4 month old kitten has a loose tooth, looks bad....?

My 4 month old female kitten was biting at my feet then stopped and started opening and closing her mouth all weird. I looked and her bottom "vampire" tooth is loose and it is sticking out. It is poking her in the lip. Isn't she too young to start getting her adult teeth? Is this how it happens?

I tried to sort of pull at it......half of it is totally loose and the other half is still in there pretty good.

Is she ok? Will it fall out on its own? Does she need a vet visit? THANK YOU SO MUCH! :o)

thats just the right time to be losing her teeth. just keep an eye on it. it should come out on its own.

with my kittens (littermate males) , their top fang didnt fall out before the new one grew on, so they each had two on each side! vet said the old one would fall out, and alas, it did. but it sure was cute, lol
Reply:She broke her tooth and I would recommend you take her to see the doctor if you cannot remove the broken piece. Take her anyway.
Reply:dont worry about it they just fall out, mine at 51/2 months were playing with a string and a couple feel out. nothing to worry about the teeth will grow in fine. try to pull it or get her to pull it out by attacking a sock or playtoy.
Reply:Your kitten is losing her 'baby teeth' right on schedule. You DO NOT have to 'pull them out' ... they'll just 'fall out' when the time is right ... she doesn't need to go to the vet, and she's 'just fine' ... but give her some 'canned food' while she's losing her teeth, and also some 'dry food' ... the canned food is easier to eat, but the 'dry food' will help the baby teeth to fall out more naturally.
Reply:cats normally start losing their baby teeth at about this age. just leave it alone - they tend to do just fine all on their own.
Reply:completely normal. just like human children, kittens and puppies lose teeth, too. they usually swallow most of their teeth and pass them through their digestive system but sometimes you will find a tooth in their food bowl or around the house. don't be worried. 4 months is a good age for a kitten to start losing teeth.
Reply:She is a little on the young side to be losing a fang. Normally kittens start losing the tiny teeth between the fangs first, at about four months of age.

However by five months they do shed the fangs and also their molars.

I wouldn't be concerned. It will probably come out in a day or two as she is chewing on something.
