I have 2 vampire teeth 1 on the right 1 on the left and they are way above where my normal teeth and are in the top gum how would I get this fixed at the dentist/ortha?? Braces?? Surgery?? Pull them?? I%26#039;m just wondering because people make jokes that I should just get them pulled and I can%26#039;t imagine that and I went to the ortho. and they said I would need braces and 20,000 surgery! Vampire teeth is the only way I know how to explaine them!!
Vampire Teeth (New Info.)????
This is a very common problem due to the eruption pattern of the upper teeth. The 1st premolars come in first and then the canines. If there is not enough room, the canines will erupt out of alignment and look like vampire teeth.
One very simple cure for this is to extract the 1st premolars and wait. Usually the pressure from your lip will move the canines back into the normal position in the jaw and no further ortho will be required. Sometimes this is not the case but I feel it is better to try it and wait for a year and then decide.
The lips and tongue are marvellous orthodontic devices if there is enough space for the teeth to move.
DO NOT REMOVE the vampire teeth, remove the teeth just behind them. The cuspids (the vampire teeth or canines) are considered by dentists to be the cornerstones of the mouth and give great strength and stability to the arch of teeth.
I have done this many times over the past 35 years with great success, most people not needing any further orthodontic treatment.
Reply:i have the same thing!!!!!only on one side though
Reply:For the shape they can be filed down. For the placement, braces will fix most of it. If there is a problem with where they are in your gums, youll probably have to have some sort of surgery.
